First Brew Day

Some co-workers / seasoned homebrewers offered to assist me in brewing my first batch of beer. They made a party out of the whole thing.

So, I loaded up the car with all of my new brewing gear and headed to the party.

When I arrived I helped setup the patio for the brew day. I was borrowing a burner from someone as I did not have one yet.

AK was nice enough to pickup a keg of Walkabout Pale Ale for the occasion. Mmm... Galaxy Hops.

I was so worried about getting the smack packed activated that I woke up in the middle of the night to activate it and get it to swell up.

Water is at 150 degrees, time to steep the grains!

Grains have steeped, time to start the boil.

Boil has finished, time to chill the wort

With my beer done and in the bucket, its time to hang out and brew with everyone else. Some people did a couple of beers this day.
